Look after the print

Print & care

Every HorrorTee is screen printed in the UK on black heavyweight cotton. The print is laid down thick and distressed, so it already has that worn-in, vintage feel.

Treat it like a proper band tee and it will age well. Beat it up and it will still look the part — just know the print will keep changing as you wear it.

How to wash it

  1. Wash inside out. This keeps the print from rubbing against the drum, other clothes, and zips.
  2. Cool wash only. 30°C max. Hot water softens the ink and makes it crack faster.
  3. Do not tumble dry. The heat and tumble action will crack and shrink the print. Air dry flat or on a hanger instead.
  4. Do not iron the print. If you need to press the shirt, turn it inside out and iron around the design, never on top of it.
  5. Avoid bleach and harsh detergents. They fade the cotton and can lift the ink.

What fading and cracking means here

The distressed screen-printed ink sits on top of the fabric. Over time the raised layer develops small cracks and the edges soften — that is part of the look, not a defect.

Faster cracking usually means heat: hot washes, tumble drying, or leaving the tee on a hot radiator. Following the steps above keeps the print crisp for longer while still letting it age naturally.
